I get what Nabokov is trying to do with the unreliable narrator thing but I'm not a fan. Also not a fan of the gratuitous French and perverted use of the word "nymphet". I've currently cast Woody Allen as Humbert in my mind.

How was this on any high school reading list? Humbert is kind of the worst but good use of SAT words, Nabokov.
