This is reading a bit clunky at the start, but I’m still here for it considering how well Deming has captured the atmosphere of a boxing gym along with the in-ring combat. I’m excited to find out whether or not Gravity can make it to the Rio Olympics! 🥊

The writing improves after the prologue; the way that Deming treats the boxers in the gym as an ensemble cast while sharing interesting tidbits about them in each chapter is a treat— I especially loved learning about Monster as that provided important commentary on size and colorism for men without needing the entire book to be about that.
