This letter is fascinating because the men of MJUMBE think they are also speaking for the women of the campus, but it seems they haven't asked the women what their complaints are or included the women in their high-level discussions.

The relegation of black women to secretaries and sexual play things in the "black power movement" is an important point that I'm glad Heron makes repeatedly. The black men of the civil rights movement even pushed Rosa Parks to the back of the bus and did not allow her to speak.
