The author of this book often shares extracts of Florence Nightingale's diaries and letters. I'm intrigued and surprised by Florence's beautiful prose, she has the ability to capture, in words, the atmosphere and beauty of the world around her. Also I am pleasantly surprised by her intelligence demonstrated by her empathetic unbiased grasp of the similarities between different religions.

I'm really enjoying this story. I'm drawn back to it each day, to read just a little more.
