"Mass suburbanization was a tremendously profitable and financially stimulating concept for capitalism, as it required that every family duplicate the purchases of every other family. Each suburbanized family lives in a separate house, with front and back yards, and their own washing machine, dryer, lawn mowers, TV, two cars— a model consumer paradise at a time when there seemed to be no limits. Only a half century."

"The problem is not the people in the corporation. It is the capitalist form itself, as expressed in the corporation. If anyone working within it doesn’t like it, they are free to leave, or they are likely to be released. Then another person is strapped onto the machine, and nothing changes. The schism between these contradictory drives—human vs. structural—is corporate schizophrenia."
