I'm on book four so I have two more to go after this one... so far I LOVE THEM. Both as MCs and as a couple. But don't go in expecting a straight-up romance (pun intended?), 'cause this has a heavy focus in the mysteries and overarching backstories. A lot of people qualify this as gay fiction rather than MM romance and I agree! With that being said... one of my fave series 🥰

So far I'm really enjoying it! I love jealous Somers 🥰 what a concept. And it's good to (view spoiler)[read about the sheriff getting murdered. Hated the fact that he got away with aiding his rapist pedophile of a son in book three. (hide spoiler)]

So far I've reviewed the first two books, working in editing my MANY notes for a future review of book three —my favorite so far, by the way. It's an understatement to say I love the series as a whole 🤩

I already have so many quotes highlighted from Somers' POV alone 😍 I know you were underwhelmed by this one, but I have a hunch I'll enjoy it more solely based on the feelings finally being addressed.

Love how you commented on that because I'm a slow reader when it comes to series 🤣 these two are so worth it for me, though. And the end of the slowburn is enough to keep me excited 🤩

I did that too!! I don't think I've highlighted more of Somers in any other book 😂
If it's any consolation, the reason for my less than excellent rating was majorly due to the resolution of the mystery, and less because of the romantic developments 🙈

Ohh, I can see myself still loving it then! 🤣 If I had solely focused on the mystery part, book 2 would've gotten a lower rating for sure —I appreciated some aspects (like the exploration of the sideplot surrounding the major), but so far that has been the only mystery I haven't enjoyed. I trust my ship finally sailing will make up for it 🥰
