I have read some Anita Blake and some Merry Gentry at a friend's urging, but they didn't really hook me, but this book hooked me in the first chapter. The main character just seems to have such depth in him and that interests me a lot. I am a third of the way through the book and I hope the other two-thirds are as enthralling as the first third.
