How disgusting. The entire plot of this novel is that a young 18 year old pretty college student whose gotten any man she ever wanted too easily finally finds the man a man she wants and the 30 year old rich resort owner isn't interested. God this is going to be an obnioxious 191 pages. Especially seeing as when this was written the heroine was and shall remain a virgin til the last page.

Where in the USA is it legal for a 20 year old to drink martini's and champagne in public? Even 30 or 40 years ago I don't think it was legal.

Bothers me that the man has kissed her now twice, when he's 33 and he thinks she's 17. If he believes her underage, then she should be off limits, yet he kissed her anyway. We know shes older, but he doesn't.

It just goes against my nature to read a romance novel where the whole point of the plot is for a young woman sets out to see if she can land a specific man. It's like reducing a romance novel to a game. And seeing as how she is and shall remain a virgin, it's a sexual game without the sex. *groans* 170 pages to go. :(

Based on the only review and the book's rating, I'm not anticipating much here. So far, first 6 pages are so interesting I'm losing concentration in the story. I'm only reading this as it's the shortest North Carolina novel I can find. I don't like the author anymore after her plagarism scandal where she admitted guilt. And her books are severely dated.
