Yeah... Cal blaming himself for his sister ending up using drugs and getting pregnant is kind of lame. He left the town cuz he had it bad did something he loved so she was also perfectly capable of doing the exact same thing if she didn't then it's her fault. Period.

I HAD THE SAME REACTION. God, I'm feeling validated now. I would say I hope it turns around, but for me it only got worse.

I am so disappointed! Wtf is wrong with these two? And why is Eli so fucking black and white? How the fuck is he real?

I ended up raging for the last 40 percent or so of the story. Eli is the worst love interest I've ever read, at least since Rain from After Rain Falls, and that's saying A LOT. I have my rant typed but never posted it lol. The bitterness is real.

The book even tried to pin the whole "sister's abusive ex-husband" on him at one point (since he should've been there to stop it, apparently) and I was like-- wut? such a bizarre implications.

@Candy... That definitely is an option that I am seriously considering... Why is Eli the one who is pissed!? And wts with all the talk abt fear? I don't see fear!? All I see is someone who wanted to get out of a toxic environment. Am I the one who is messed up? 🤔
