I was curious so I just posted a link. I've gotten that error when using href links, but posting the full address does work for me still.

maybe they are trying to protect from spam disabling href? I had a few in my comments -just a comment and link to more. and if you press it it redirects you to spam...

Yeah, they are doing it to keep the spam down, but you can't post links to articles now. We use links all the time in the comic book club I'm in to show what movies are coming out or what author or artist is up to, etc. It's a huge discussion starter and will be sorely missed if we can't get the ability back.

I think most people know not to click on the spammy links. Or I would think so...?

yeah that's why I don't know why they banned full links. but with hrefs, spamlinks are disguised to look like the "more" link - the one that opens a full review or comment. hm...

I have still been able to post links in my groups. I dunno what is happening, though. Can you still post images/gifs?

So, I am still able to post links, but I know other people aren't and it doesn't make sense at all.

There are problems in groups with messages and notifications. If you are not friends with another group member, they are difficult to contact. Voting on polls and surveys are in a group are
effectively disabled.

I think you are in the minority. I think that they could have managed some sort of fix that didn't involve throwing the baby out with the bathwater since every other major social media site seems to be able to figure it out.

Yes, I think disabling *external links via href* that way makes sense (since you can't always see on what you click on-even though I think their ADS are the worst for that@!!

Hopefully it's just a glitch for full links and internal links via href though, because like Anne says it's pretty critical for discussions!

I can post external links still just not disguised as text in href.

Thanks! When we were trying to post originally, it wouldn't let us. I think they may have fixed some of the problem.

Created a brand new account for the sole purpose of testing this. I have no idea why I'm able to post links on this one and not the other. It's the same location and the same browser. 🤷‍♂️

The people on this ap are what makes it amazing. The lack of any real care about it's user interface from their software designers sucks! For starters, there are at least a jillion book quotes they could rotate on the login page and they use the same handful.
