I really think my mom was the first taco artist. Sixty years ago she put a hot dog in a tortilla and handed it to me. The first time someone handed me a hot dog on a bun didn't happen until I was seven years old. I took one look at the bun and was like, "What the hell is this? This isn't a tortilla."

That's how my mom made hotdogs, too: in a tortilla with melted cheese and hotsauce.

I'm surprised my mom didn't do that. That's why I found this comment funny. Sometimes you have to get inventive when trying to make food go a long way.
That's interesting. I'm trying to imagine what flavor the tortilla would add to a hot dog. I don't like hot dogs, but I guess I can't rule out that this might be tasty for those that like hot dog meat.
I don't really like hotdog either, which is why it's better with hot sauce to cover it up! And tortilla has more flavor and texture contrast than bun. Bun is like nothing, but with calories. Also, it helps to cook the hotdog till the edges char.
