Half the time I reread something from my M/M honeymoon period I'm thinking "How high did I rate this? What the hell was I thinking?" - So what should I do now? Go through all the stories and rate them anew? Seems like an awful amount of work, doesn't it? Or just leave it be and change the rating of those I happen to try again anyway? *sigh* Just... what the hell was I thinking???

Well, as with all these books waiting on my TBR I'm not re-reading much, nevertheless I adjust my rating if necessary. I don't start hunting for the 'wrong' ratings:)
You were thinking you enjoyed those books and have every right to rate them as so. Past book taste ratings are legit. If you want to keep them as they are, that's good. If you want to change them to reflect your current book taste, that's equally good too. Do what you think is best but please don't kick yourself what you used to like. It's okay to like what you used to like and to like different things now.
Oh yeah. I rated some stuff that had me thinking, "What kind of imaginary crackballs was I ON?" But tastes change. I've been on this site for six years now, and it's only natural I wouldn't like the same things at 24 that I did at 18. (:
I do what Julio did -- if the books popped up in my feed, and I thought, huh, that couldn't be 4-stars (or higher), I just changed it. But I'm doing the extensive hunt by re-rating everything. And tastes change, most definitely. I've been reading M/M since 2008 and what I saw as shiny stories now no longer stand the test of time. Whatever you want to, just do what makes you feel comfortable. Change it don't change it, no need to get stressed about it :)
Thanks everyone! I think I'll just change my ratings whenever things pop up and beg to be changed. It's not that I'm angry about the ratings, I'm just... utterly flabbergasted. I guess my superglittery pink goggles from the beginning have just been seen for the really bad fashion choice they were and now sit around for the next new discovery to be made.
YES. THIS. Apparently I needed to read a certain number of m/m books to reach a critical reading threshold...
