Enjoying this. One nit to pick: the author struggles with bird names. He states at the beginning his intention to use the IOC English names rather than Latin ones—great! He then recounts an embarrassing mishap where he forgot the name for a robin. Unfortunately, he seems to do this with most species he discusses at length, to the extent that it makes me question his expertise.
