The first full sex scene is written in a way that is so over the top and the narration is so overblown that it made me laugh out loud in several places. Probably not the intended effect, but fun, nonetheless. Interesting and silly twists coming in around the "mystery," but not much about it, really, considering it's supposed to be the center of the plot.

I think I've read /heard too many of this author's books. I catch exact phrases, situations, characters and dialogue repeated from other books of hers. I guess when a person has written dozens, it's hard to be original. Musicians are recognizable because of repeating their own chord progressions, riffs and topics; why not authors?

Improved somewhat (not as boring) when into the actual book, but I must say the period is not my favorite, historically.

VERY slow start, very boring. If I hadn't been driving and unable to change it, I would have turned it off. This was the "Prologue," though, and then Chapter 1 had entirely different characters, so we'll see.
