Finished this yesterday and I already forgot 50% of the book. Might be my school related 📉 dip in motivation 📉, might be how "meh" I was about the whole thing.
I'm definitely reading the sequel, however, because childhood best friends to lovers. So duh.

That’s always how I judge books, based on how much I remember after reading. So if you’ve already forgotten then it must really not be that good 😂 I hope the sequel will prove to be better ❤️

I liked one of the MCs (Ben) and liked the dynamic with his dad, but yanno it's bad when the romance itself is the most forgettable part. Thank you thoo 😋

Plus, the pacing of the entire relationship was so fast they might as well have fallen in love in a single day. But this is just my take of course! I'm glad I took notes because otherwise I really had no clue how I felt for half the story lol.

I do think the sequel has a lot of potential, I sense lots of pining and oblivious possessivene..."It had potential, I must admit. And I actually liked Ben and his dad, as well as some of the side characters. I'm intrigued about Danny (my mind started spining and I thought he could be paired with Ben's dad for a hot second 🤣), but Damon felt like a one dimensional cutout. Plus the pacing was... very quick. As in lighting fast, it gave me a little whiplash. I'm crossing my fingers for the sequel though! Teddy is such a sweetheart.
Everyone seems to be reading this one either for the sequel or for the secondary characters, basically for everything but the actual romance 😂Glad that at least 50% of the book was somewhat memorable for you Candylandy! :P
Meh. is exactly how I react to an unforgettable book. Sorry this didn't work for you, Candy. Ps. Hope you find a good book for your next read because everything you're reading lately seems... well, you know 😆🤣

Hey, BeckyJecky! And I actually had some hopes for it considering how everyone was pointing out the toxicity and codependent aspect. But I was let down 😪 There is only one outright violent scene and I was hoping for more. The fluffy parts were 😒 not what I wanted. And the pagecount was way too short to elaborate a natural progression from problematic to healthy. Lacklustre at best.
The sequel though 🤩 I'm trying to lower expectations but it does sound like it has all the proper condiments for me. Fingers crossed!

Duh indeed 😂😂."Hey, Ayanna! Lovely to hear from you and hope your current reads are doing well 🖤 You know me too, I'm basic when it comes to the tropes I like. At this point, if it's a cute one and does the bare minimum, I will consider myself happy!

Thank you though!! I'm waiting for one of them to at least be memorable, if not great lol.

Yeah we're basically torturing ourselves, at least it's entertaining tho 😆
