Idk if the author thought she was being slick writing this cutesy back and forth banter. It's not cutesy, it's funny tho. Bordering on cringey, but ultimately funny.

honestly, most of the time whenever an author includes too many quips or tries to make the characters "humorous", I find myself cringing. The line between funny and annoying is a thin one 💀
