This was published in 2013 so that makes sense because her writing now has improved substantially in comparison to this. It's still good, don't get me wrong. But subpar kinda good, if that makes sense idk 😆

I've been having the worst three month reading slump, this is probably what gets me out.

Can we talk about every single male in this book lusting after our heroine? In her mind, they're all cute. Her being a virgin— it ain't a religious thing btw— is so not making sense.

I have been watching modern family lately and it's unnerving to read about characters named Claire and Alex doing sexual stuff while in Modern Family, Claire and Alex are mom and daughter.

This dual timeline is boring the fuck out of me. The farther this goes the more it seems like a cheap rip off of Ugly Love by Coleen Hoover.

I'm honestly starting to think Keeland writes better with Ward and vice versa, because these books written individually by both authors doesn't quite hit the spot.

I still have hope that it'll get better. God I hope so. My head is starting to ache.

This is fine so far, but it skeeved me the fuck out that their first sexual encounter happened when she was vulnerable asf. And they're both drunk off their asses. And that Beckett doesn't know how to take 'no' for an answer, not in the sexual context but just in general.

I have no problem with Boss-Employee romances but, it seems the hero has no regard for workplace ethics whatsoever. Everything's just peachy.

I love Michael. Jack I'm kinda on the fence. But jesus christ Carrie is so damn annoying with her smart mouthing the best character in this book by far, when he's just tryna respect her. Then she goes and throws herself at his bestfriend. Ghoooorl, whatchadoin? Have some dignity babe and make them work for you.

It's so mortifying what she does, that fact that she's almost basically my age is just...

I'm coming to terms that 'road trip' romances aren't for me. This is the book, that's most popular in booktube. I don't see the appeal, this books 'Love at First Sight' is creeping me out. Which didn't happen in Captain and Hero, quite honestly I loved Hero with all my heart.

Maddie is so unbearable IMO.

There are a lot. A Lot of staring happening in this book. I don't mind it, because the sexual tension is there but I think it's kinda twilight-y. I'm very uncomfortable and I'm not even the one making such intense eye contact.
