I like that the author adds in historical bits that occurred in whatever area he is currently in, really appeals to my interest of historical adventuring. One of my favourites (less a story and more an observation) is when shaolts found old remains of a fire and fish bones untouched for an estimated 50ish years. So cool.

The way I got kind of emotional at the part where he had to say goodbye to the pole that he used to maneuver upstream...........

There is FOOTAGE of this in his documentary too it's so cool. I thought he did an excellent job of concealing that he was filming the whole time in the book lol
