i’m not a fan of the writing. does every paragraph have to end in a question? a sassy question at that??

i also think maybe i’m just old now and find books written for teenagers cringey because i cannot with celaena’s (however it’s written) monologue she’s insufferable

istg can we finish one plot point before we dive into another one???? i have very few brain cells left and can't focus on two plot lines at the same time

IVE PINPOINTED WHY IT WAS BOTHERING ME SO MUCH, ITS THE SAME PREMISE AS A SHADOW BETWEEN US: BADASS ASSASSIN IS SUDDENLY IN A CASTLE AND THINKS ABT MURDER.

only that literally nothing can be as bland and boring as the shadows between us so hence why this book does it so much better

i don't like the structure that the book is written in, seems a bit childish, but i hope it gets better as the book progresses or, in the worst case, by the next book.
