Ash is so nice, a great character so far and it makes it hard to root for Sera. She's slowly turning to be the bad guy in my eyes right now, ngl. Why root for the killer (even if she's the main character of the story) when the victim has done nothing wrong?

Havent found one redeeming trait for Sera and I'm getting impatient

i still dont get what good it will do if sera finally assassinates nyktos... like, do the rot will instantly disappear if he stops breathing? doesn't the rot ceasing hinges on the fact that the deal has to be fulfilled so he can remove the curse? why kill the one who is able to do just that?

...was this even explained in this book or did i somehow miss why the mission has to be done?

i wish jla didnt write such wordy pages when nothing barely happens. i feel like my time is being wasted with all the rehashing and detailed inner monologues happening in her books 😫
