A privilege to read such a significant document. Complex picture of Scott emerges esp re editorial amendments.
For all the many criticisms that can be levelled at him, (though some tempered by acknowledgement of the man's society & milieu, others by acceptance that he was just a human being) I can't help but be moved by his spirit, his spiritual appreciation of the aesthetics of the place. Poignant in the extreme.
