I'm asking myself why I'm trying to finish this.
The story idea is good. But.
The narration—I'm so tired of the overflowing description. I don't need that. I want action. Verbs. VE Schwab takes so much time carving the right picture with colors, smells, but when it comes to action she abruptly ends them with 1-line paragraphs that "wants to sound"... epic. Unfortunately, she uses it so much, it fails.
