Guestimating on my progress, but updating because I'm struggling. The main character who is established at the start of the book takes one step into antarctica and begins to change. Just a few chapters later and I'm wondering who I'm reading about. Who am I supposed to care about? This character has no memories of the earlier one. He's acting in ways that have nothing to do with his prior personality. Why continue?
