Can't finish this. Too much going on, long & boring & preachy. The first two chapters gave me chills, then it went in a totally different direction than I expected & wanted it to. Now I know it's a cliffhanger and I just can't read another book like this. Too bad. I liked the idea of a Native American heroine. I even liked Maxim til he became THAT kind of man who thought he could take what he wanted when he wanted.

I'm sorry you didntget on with this one. Perhaps the super alpha narration by Jason Clarke carries this one for me more than I realised? I sometimes wonder if a big chunk of my enjoyment of a book is actually the narrators performance .

Maybe. Jason Clarke is swoony. But Maxim's character seemed more than just alpha. Seems like he saw himself as god-like. That he was entitled to anything he wanted. Nix said it well--he took away her choices. Criminy it wasn't more than fifteen seconds before he went from first base, to second, to fourth on the conference room table. That's not consent in my book.
