Yeah, so I must have been reading a different book from what everyone else has read to be singing this thing's praises. There's no way I'm gonna give this parody more than 3 stars, if that. What "whirl of adventure" and what "romantic heroes"? It's been 20 something hours of melodrama, self-entitled pricks and excruciatingly slow pacing. I'm listening to the last 20% at double speed, so I can put this sh*t behind me.

@Ch. 115 Storytel unabridged audiobook
So d'Artagnan is a hotheaded curiosity-killed-the-cat sort of fool, Athos is a drunkard who'll pick any fight and gamble away all his possesseions, and might have a death wish on top of that, Aramis supposedly wants to return to being a man of the church, but has this prolongued sort-of-romance with a duchess, while Portoss is a braggart, a gambler, and a swindler. Good lord.

@Chapter 63, listening to the unabridged audiobook on Storytel
So far, if it weren't for Atoss and the Cardinal, I 'd have probably dropped this, the rest of the cast are exceedingly unrelatable to me, especially d' Artagnan.
