Despite working in domain of survivors of male violence, I find that this book is furnishing me with a compact and articulate view of the connection between law, justice, and society as well as the individual psyche regarding rape. 3 Criteria for credibility! Really? and yet, YES.

this book is INVALUABLE. The language and thought process around the issues is an indispensable part of Survivor Trauma work.

"Sexual assault and harassment are often repackaged as humor, guaranteeing that an accusation won’t elicit our concern. When abuse becomes a joke, we need not care, so we need not act. What may seem like harmless fun is in fact further violation." (so men are caught in a paradox, hurt by a 'joke')

Can't you take a joke? section illuminated to me one aspect about why men who are violated, sexually assaulted, are differently affected.

I have this in both audible and kindle format. Upon listening again to how Science has so little to do with rape. That hit me as the biggest glitch in the "patrix" for holding men accountable in court, in the face of the law. A man saying he did not also plays into our human distaste for change, or rocking the boat, so he is believed. Accusers, mostly women, are asking the system to see its ugly side and react.
