"Seeping into his mind was a vision of her in his arms on the balcony of his London flat. She adored the view, she'd said, then focused those beautiful, dark eyes on his and kissed him. Ouch. This hurt. Immediately he turned his back on the view and the memories and returned to the kitchen.
"Those thoughts stole his contentment."

I am glad that your notes are cryptic Walker, as I have just begun reading. I'm on page 18, the encounter between Chester and the trespassers is revealing, how afterwards he ... whoops, almost wrote a spoiler!

I am taking notes this time for a good review. I hope you enjoy it; there are so many wonderful lessons to be gleaned and thought provoking passages. It gets better and better!
