Ugh this book is becoming kind of a punisher. The plot is fairly exciting but the meandering introspection, which seems characteristic of Musil's writing style, combined with Bieneberg's pseudo eastern-philosiphizing and Torless's pyrrhic epiphanies make it kind of a slow read.
