This book is huge. Slavery is just the icing of the cake. Both men and women question their worth in a "lower society" of slaves than the society we know to be rampant with women's worth and their role. The biblical references to The Last Supper, The Crucifixion, and The Revelations' Four Horsemen is also huge. Questions like what is a past? Is it a place or a person? Or something other?
