Kind of a pet peeve of mine but if a non-American author decides to have American characters, it’s important to make the American characters sound American (I’m sure the same thing can be said for other nationalities but I am only able to give critiques on American lingo). For me personally, it takes away from the overall quality of the book.

Also, if they are college freshmen (likely 18), they would not be old enough to drink in America. These are little things but I think they are important to overall quality.
