A promise, and he’d broken it. What if today had been the end of Caleb’s story? What if Caleb’s story had ended with John’s broken promise? And what if John had nothing ahead of him now but empty pages?

Jesus, this is good....

“We’ll do everything we can,” John said, because as much as he wanted to promise Darren that he’d bring Caleb safely home, he was too afraid that if he said it, the universe would prove him a liar.

I am so scared to see what comes next. Knowing Lisa Henry, it won't be pretty...

OMG, I was afraid this would turn into a blood-curdling thriller. Now I'll never fall asleep...

Lisa Henry is a specialist when it comes to writing traumatized characters like Caleb. Very impressive.

This is brilliant. It's not an easy read, though.

What an intense story. I'm so mesmerized I can barely put it down.
