I am loving spending time with this crew of characters. I'm feeling impatient with Kristen, as the hero must, and wishing she'd unbend as he must, and grinding my teeth that so far she hasn't, just as he is. I like this better the more I read! Yay!

Gracefully written, the heroine's a prig but whatever. The secondary couple, the enterprising rascally gal pretending to be hero's betrothed and his cousin and cynical cavalry cousin have great, sparking chemistry developing. The writing is a pleasure.

Reading this b/c of AR's novella that I enjoyed. Very well written, slow, methodical character depiction but devolopment one-sided so far (his, not hers). He's a rake-in-luv w/widow-prissy-petticoats never never steps out of line. Her charge for the season is a rascally young girl trying to help the rakish naval Captain win the prude's heart thru jealousy. Not swept up yet but it's v. enjoyable...
