That Vyre/Judas/M went through all the trouble of having an evil Bridge Four uniform tailored is both hilarious and insanely pathetic and just proves what a complete waste of ink he is.
I honestly don't think I've hated a fictional character more🤦♀️

Lots of quantum physics in part 3. I remember reading this the first time shocked that an author would actually attempt to explain the concept of destructive interference, and wave theory in general, in a universe so alien from Earth. In an Epic Fantasy. He could have easily waved his hand and said "magic" but didn't. Love it!
I can definitely see how some wouldn't enjoy reading that, however. For sure.

I worry for any eventual Stormlight adaptation that they won't get the little things like the Rhythms right. Or the Listeners. Or even spren. Or ... anything, really. It will be so hard to adapt

"I think we're losing. To a guy wielding [a scarf] he found in Adolin's sock drawer."
Her commentary is usually on point but to think Adolin would keep scarves in the same drawer as his socks is incredibly shameful. He would have a separate closet for all his scarves, most definitely, tyvm.

The argument with Yunfah is a perfect opportunity to reverse the classic Old Man Yells at Cloud meme, hehe

is starting
Starting the year out with a re-read I know I'll love since I've been very sick the last couple days and I need something to help me forget I feel like trash.
My sister gifted me the Graphic Audio and I'm so hyped to experience one of my fave books in this way once again.

The more I learn about this series, the more I learn that I actually know nothing, LOL.

My niece went to the mini-con for Cytonic, and someone asked Brandon to name something nice about M., and he just stood there in silence. My son has all the Graphic Audio books for the Cosmere -- he listens all day at work. I borrowed Oathbringer for my re-read since I hate Kate Reading's voice; so much better on Graphic Audio.
There's absolutely nothing redeemable about him. Nothing. I'm crossing all my fingers and toes we don't get a redemption arc for this fool. I mean, I bet Brandon can write a good one, but like, I really just don't want it. He needs to die. Or not even die, but somehow live eternally with his pain. That's my hope for him. His obsession with Kaladin is cringeworthy and deeply disturbing. "You are my dearest friend, Kal."
*barf*
The best part about this is imagining him telling the seamstress to make the uniform black. I bet he had the patch made and all and then ripped it off for the full effect 😂🤦♀️
smh
Audrey, that's awesome! For me, it's Michael Kramer's voice that doesn't work, so GA is a perfect way for me to enjoy this :) Everything feels slightly more real.
Interesting! I do enjoy Michael Kramer.I think this is supposed to be an anti-redemption arc because Brandon experiments that way.
I tried him with Wheel of Time and couldn't make it halfway. I don't know why, I just find his voice grating. Though, maybe I should give him another chance seeing how they were recorded over 20 years ago now.
Maybe. Kate Reading's voice is so grating on my ears, and her inflections sound all wrong, it's nails on a chalkboard. I've heard she also does WoT, which is why I haven't tried listening to that series.
I understand. And they do so many of these epic fantasy books we love :(At least we have GA. I just wish they were less expensive, haha.
Makes sense, I heard they had a big one around Black Friday, but I missed it. But I get it, these can't be cheap to produce.
A couple of their works have made their way unto Audible, which is fantastic, but not any of the cosmere. It's their bestseller, I believe. The production on this book is not as great as on the previous, unfortunately. Some voice actors are recording from home with cheap mics while others have fine mics and it is a bit jarring listening to the constant switch.
They also changed half the cast and it's hard to come to grips with the new actors. Adolin's was PERFECT for him and the new fellow isn't as good 😭😿😢
They probably had to do "social distancing" recordings; too bad. I've only listened to Oathbringer and Mistborn 1 and 5 on GA.

But there s a new Rosamund Pike version of the first Wheel of Time book, and its AMAZING She has a really insane range!
OMG, I heard that she did the first WoT book and completely forgot all about that until now!! Thank you for the reminder, A! Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the series, that's something I would really like to try. If she continues doing the series, I'll be so ecstatic.
Audrey wrote: "I'll have to look for that. I tried reading WoT but only made it about three pages."3 pages?? I don't know why but I find that so funny 😅 That prologue was really something, lol.
That was me with the Lord of the Rings, haha. I couldn't make it.
Another reader suggested skipping the WoT prologue for now. That sounds good.LOTR is such beautiful writing, but the beginning is certainly slow. I found it easier on audio. My parents' copy growing up was this 8-point font, 8.5-point leading with 1/8 inch margins -- it took a full ten minutes to read a single page. I think next time I'll try alternating chapters in TT and RoTK so it's not ALL Frodo and Sam and ALL Aragorn/Merry/etc.
Ahh, I would never think to alternate chapters like that, I love that suggestion. I think I'll try that next time when I feel ready to give the series my all, thanks :)
