Sigh. Struggling.
I think my issue of disinterest and disengagement is that I don’t know what this is?
It doesn’t have a plot because it’s a history book, but it’s not really a history book because it creates fictional ‘ancient Egyptians’ lives, thoughts, actions and dialogue. So what is it?!
I’m clearly not the target audience. This is aimed at non academics and or novices to AE.

Easy to follow and accessible for novice to Egyptology. But I have issue with imagining dialogues and thoughts of real people. Also the narrative structure which is interesting and accessible, by same turn is annoying to me because it requires so much imagining and conjecture to ‘fill the gaps’ if the ancient past.
