"Mary stand on the lawn before the house, surrounded by green grass and an ocean of blue and all of the space in the world." An ocean of blue... in Missouri. Not a sky of blue. An ocean. In Missouri. Um...what?

Character says: "A person's color don't matter to me. I never gave a tinker's damn for it one way or the other." I say, "Well, of course it doesn't; you're blind!" Way to state the obvious...

All I want to do is read this book and make snarky comments on Post-it notes about Stockholm Syndrome, but no... these students have to keep logging in to ask me to proofread their essays. You'd think it was, like, finals week or something.

Thinking I may need to pick HSP's brain about her grad lecture on modern books inspired by the classics...

Hmm, maybe I should read Tom Sawyer as well as re-read Huck Finn...
