Not impressed so far. The characters feel flat—not that they don’t have personality. They do. That’s the problem. They all have the SAME personality: obnoxious jerks who can’t respect authority. The writing is funny—for the first three pages. Then it’s too much. He’s trying too hard to make me laugh. I should’ve been warned off by Ove, but my sister recommended it to me and, well, I like my sister.

😂 This was not my favorite Backman novel. I loved A Man Called Ove and Beartown (though that last one is definitely not for everyone, proceed with caution if you read it). But the sequel to Beartown and this one--they felt too preachy and cliche to me.
