The second half of chapter 5 is really solid, talking about the "faithful ones" - men and women who have dialogued with God themselves and testify to God's goodness in the life of the speaker. In other words, the importance of community in sharing in suffering.

This isn't a layperson book though, I would only recommend it to those who would take these ideas and apply them simply to others.

This is a series of talks and sermons Brueggemann did; so far chapter 1 was fantastic and halfway through chapter 2 I've written "not sure that's in the text" about 17 times. Not to put myself on the good doctor's level, but he makes claims that aren't quite in the text, nor does he show how they are in the text. It is interesting at least, and making me think!
