Mama’s chest rose and fell with the artificial rhythm of the ventilator, her heartbeat showed reassuringly steady on the monitor, but the spark was gone, and had been for a long time. All the little things and big things that made her who she was had leeched away, leaving only a shell behind.

This scene really bring back old memories.....
