It’s difficult to pin down what exactly this story is about. It’s so meandering with extensive backstory thrown into every character but it’s done more like a huge info dump and is uninteresting to read. The first chapter had me hooked but it’s become a chore to read because it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere

I’m now 80% of the way through this book and I’m still not sure what the story is. It’s so meandering, and I was so invested in Peggy’s character, but I’ve just read a couple more chapters on her and it felt rushed and pointless. I don’t understand this book at all.

Peggy has just been told Bonnie isn’t allowed to play with her and my heart hurts
For her! This poor kid 😭

Still enjoying the writers style as I read the word, but I’ve just been bombarded with a massive info dump and an entire backstory for Vera that I found pretty tough going. Hopefully Vera’s backstory is important to Peggy’s current one.

Oh, already into the authors writing style. And I feel so much sympathy for poor Peggy. I want to scoop her up and take her home and show her what a loving family is. I’m invested already and I’m only at the end of chapter 1
