Be honest with me, guys. I've been reading all this great Sterek fan fix lately. If I actually get around to watching Teen Wolf, am I going to be disappointed in their actual interactions?

I don't watch the show for fear of being disappointed, so I just looked up sterek moments on youtube. I figure I got to see clips of all the good stuff without having to watch the parts that wouldn't interest me.

Ooooh, okay! Honestly, as someone who watches the show (but started AFTER reading a little bit of Sterek), the clips are probably a lot more fun than seeing how those scenes fit into the show. That said, I enjoy watching the show, tooooooo. :) It helps with seeing how some of the fics use the show's story line in creative ways. If you're a fan of the characters themselves and would be okay with seeing them minus overt romance, then it's fun for that reason, as well. Watching the show actually prompted me to seek out more Sterek, rather than finding much disappointment in its not being canon in the show.Either way, Sterek fic is the bestest. *hugs it* *whispers, "It's one of the reasons I haven't been reading "real" m/m lately"* :) I also love how there's such a wide spectrum of Sterek out there. It's like reading the longest continuing-couple series EVER. :D

I agree. It's been years since I liked an MTV show, and that makes me very cautious.
I'm so glad I'm not the only person who reads fan fic without watching the shows! Except Supernatural. I watch the shit out of that.

Guilty as charged, and no you aren't. I read lots of fan fic for things I haven't ever, and probably will never watch.
On my Tumblr feed, I get tons and tons of Sterek, gifs and fan art and links to fanfic, so I watched all the episodes and Derek and Stiles do not interact the way they do in the fics at all!All I got from watching the show is a hugely age inappropriate crush on adorkable Dylan O'Brien. I already have crushes on Flynn Rider, Peter Parker & Han Solo! I did not need another crush on a adorable, snarky, handsome man.
As a watcher of Teen Wolf, I have to say that the show will most likely disappoint any Sterek shippers. Especially season 3, when the two characters had hardly any interaction. (To be honest, the only reason why I still follow the series is because I really like Stiles.) Of course, for anyone looking for a good M/M fandom... *cough*SUPERNATURAL-DESTIEL*cough*
Definitely. But. It can be enjoyed in it's own right, and it makes the fic more enjoyable when you're more familiar with the characters/situations.Also, you haven't lived until you've seen (view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
That's a pretty big show spoiler under that cut, btw. It's pretty much what induced me to watch, though.
Oooh! That spoiler is enticing. Thanks Eisheth! @ Katyna, I already feel like I'm inappropriately crushing on terribly young actors, so I will happily add another to the list.
@ Xing. Destiel. *sighs* Oh god yes.

He's cute, and all, but I prefer what I've seen of the "older" actors on the show.

That's what I thought. I know I'm getting older when I like the father better than I like the kids.

I think there's a time in all our lives when suddenly the stable guy with the steady job looks hotter than the teenage rebel. Why yes, my ideal man can change a tyre and fill out a tax return, why do you ask?
It's best just to go with it.

I agree. It sounds excellent to me. Responsibility is sexy.
