What was the point of portraying the attack by the uncle so brutally if she is just over it the next day? As described, she should have had visible bruises and lingering injuries, but instead she is jauntily hopping on and off her horse without so much as a wince. It’s seems insultingly dismissive to have her knocked and dragged around and then portray that brutal beating as having no lingering effects.
