It is difficult to like these characters, however to enjoy a novel, you don't have to. Part of the reason ,I feel this way might be coloured by my personal experience and my age. Her characters come across as spoiled and selfish. I was a Healthcare worker I m retired now, but it should be stated that if I have any sympathy for her characters it lies with their fictional parents.

I finished this book yesterday afternoon , as a reader , I don't have to like the main characters to realise that I m reading a insightful novel. For some readers ,myself included need a character to have a redemptive arc, this not the case in 'What We All Long For'. They are more opportunistic that redemptive, this shouldn't put a person off from reading this novel. Toronto looks interesting as a setting ,her prose is visual and clear, but the story is unsatisfying and will leave you with more questions than answers.
