so fucking emotionally draining which makes me think it’s worth it. i only really like it because of the sadness within the characters but if I wouldn’t willingly read yanagihara’s work again if it weren’t this depressing

yeeeeess i thought the same thing when i was around halfway of the book too! yanagihara's writing is so spectacular and detail-oriented which works so well with this melancholic-tragic theme. personally i don't know if i will ever be ready to open one of her other books again, but she was definitely born for this
