Thomas Sutpen manifested a complete Southern manor with operational plantation on 12+ miles of land basically by sheer force of will, meanwhile I just spent the morning struggling to lay about 10 square feet of slide-together laminate flooring planks.

Ok Faulkner, you're quite the writer and I'm very impressed by your torrential stream of consciousness techniques and all, but this next-to-last chapter runs a bit long, dontcha think?

Outraged to be learning only now that they released a corrected text in 1986*, closer to Faulkner's original manuscript and allegedly truer to his voice?? And here I am wasting time on this trash from '64.

Concerned at the lack of student markups in this library copy. So far there's been just one sentence underlined and a single note in the margin, and it's in French for whatever reason. Don't the kids have to read this in school anymore?

My rule for repairs is I give at least one good solid try to fix things myself, then I can call the pros with a clean conscience.
