With casual fatphobia throughout, the sex scenes are described so clinically, with a misogynistic crudeness that's not even charming like other adolescent fiction such as Big Mouth, just gross and off-putting, with bizarre descriptions of "meatworms" spilling out "magma". If the aim was to disgust the reader, it's working. The story is so disjointed, jumping from random point to point, that it's incomprehensible.

Can't tell if it's the translation or if the original was like this, but the wording is so bizarrely clinical and overly complex that it's almost impossible to understand what is going on.
