I've gotten a ton of random friend requests from people I've never interacted with, don't answer friend questions and have created their account this year. I don't mean to seem like a jerk here, but at this point if people don't answer any of the silly questions I ask, I'm denying requests. I love discussing books with people, but have zero interest in friend collectors.
Anyone else dealing with this?

Not really, but I tend to "clean up" every few months. If I haven't heard at all from someone, like not even a like or no reaction to something I say, I eventually un-friend them. Nothing personal, I just have this magical limit of about 150 people in my head (no particular reason why exactly 150) that I think is enough as number of friends.

That seems reasonable. I should honestly do a cleanup myself as there are so many people on my friends list that haven't even been online for quite some time. Likely from the era when I was new enough that I accepted all requests.
Yes, I've had many random requests also. Some with zero books, some with books all added on the same day. I also still get the weird requests that include the comment "hi 6312875" or something similar.
Yes. Very much so. Some seem slightly shady and/or have other motives involved. Also, they seem to have no real reading history on their page and you wonder why they found you.
I get relatively few requests of this kind... Most are from people with few reviews or little activity excepting mere ratings, in which I'm not interested at all :D
Most I get don't answer the question--HOWEVER, if people request via the useless app, the challenge question doesn't show up for some reason, so now I always wonder if the person requested that way. This bug has been mentioned to staff more than once, but they don't fix it. Lots that don't answer are just shady, though, and I immediately ignore.
