"Let us speak behind our hands, lest our lips be read as the book of our designs." This line. I'm shaking.

"Congratulations! We're reverse burglars, here to give you fifty gold solari!" He tossed his coin purse at the servant, who caught it in one hand and gaped at its weight. In the next second and a half the man spent not raising an alarm, Jean coshed him. Lmfao.

When you become attached to a character, you end up having hopes for them. You imagine their future adventures. You hope for them. Then, when they die, it's so jarring. This part made me cry.

It's amazing how hopeless Drakasha's situation feels right now. I love the shifting perspective. It doesn't feel jarring.

I appreciate how non-linear the plot feels. It's like Lynch wants us to explore every direction the book could possibly take. What's behind this door? This is! --B-but I wanted to see what was behind this one too--BAM! This was behind that one! Take a look, free of charge! Pretty cool.

There is so much of Shakespeare's Henry V in Drakasha and Locke. It makes me wonder if Lynch was reading it at the time he wrote this novel.

Now this is exciting. Also, I don't know if my Kindle app gives an accurate page count, sooo... Ha.

I appreciate the little hints of things to come. When the writing becomes monotonous and seems plotless, Lynch tickles us with foreshadowing. Thank god.

Eh, I think Lynch is getting a little carried away with the pirate ship terminology. He doesn't need to explain every detail. I appreciate that he did his research, but as a reader unfamiliar with starboards and larboards and afts and foredecks, I feel he's going overboard. I'm glazing over. Not a good sign.
