Update status! This book was amazing! The sight of the B-29 was a sign of hope to the POWs because they knew the Americans would win the war. They were so happy when the Americans won. Louie and the others were able to go back to their families. I feel bad for Cynthia (Louie's wife) because Louie was addicted to alcohol. At night, Louie had nightmares of "the Bird". He wanted to kill him as revenge...

...his promise he had made: "if you will save me, I will serve you forever." He then turn around and spoke to Billy. There, that day, God spoke to him and he accepted Jesus into his heart...and there, that night, he no longer was addicted to alcohol. For the first time in a long time, he slept peacefully and "the Bird" was no longer in his dreams. He now wants to spread God's love to others...

...Somewhere in September, a person named Billy Graham came to LA. I was so surprised when I saw that name because he was a famous Christian evangelist. Cynthia heard one of his sermon and she told Louie that she is not going to divorce him. She also invited him to listen to Billy's sermon. Louie reluctantly went and was angry. Next time he went before he was about to leave, he mind flashed back to the raft...

...Cynthia was scared of him and she wanted a divorce...on the other side, "the Bird" was hiding because everyone was trying to kill him. They wanted to kill him because he treated the POWs badly...

Update status! So far the book is very interesting! There was war between the Americans and the Japanese. I was surprise that Louie, Phil, and Mac, was able to survive in the raft for a long time...later, Mac died. Louie and Phil was founded by the Japanese and was taken in as a captive. There, they were being beaten and forced to work. Striving to be alive, they prayed and encouraged each other. =)
