It is such a pleasure to read this long novel of Charles Dickens for the second time. I return to it frequently in between tackling other challenging works. Dickens' scenes, his characters, his descriptions, his ear for dialogue, are all so brilliant that any serious writer needs to sample at least some of this wonderful novel. No, it's not easy, but it is rewarding.
