I read a lot of gay literary (literary gay?) fiction, but this is my first MM novel. Rather than busting my cherry though, this is just giving me indigestion. Straight women writing gay porn for straight women? Eish, it's a mad, bad, sad world out there.

If Edmund White had written this: Michael would have had an affair with Abby, lusted secretly after her boyfriend Scott, and then fucked Dominic noisily on the side. None of this pining-after-a-melancholic vampire bullshit.

This starts off intensely, moodily, atmospherically. A vampire walks into a tattoo parlour, yearning for human touch, driven to slight distraction by the tang of bloody skin ... Then we're told that the tattooist "felt his cock twitch within the confines of his jeans". Oh dear.
